Data protection declaration

The protection and security of your data are both of great concern to us. We take the protection of data of this nature very seriously and comply with the relevant data protection regulations during the collection, processing and use of your personal data, in particular the terms of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (Telemediengesetz, TMG).

With this data protection declaration, we would like to explain to you which personal data we collect from you and how we use that data.

  1. Collection, processing and use of personal data

a) What is personal data?

Personal data is any information assigned to a person that permits the identification of that person. For example, it includes information such as the name, address, telephone number and email address. Information that cannot be associated with a certain person or could only be associated with them by means of unreasonable effort is not considered personal information.

During a visit to our Internet pages, for technical reasons we receive additional data that could permit identification, such as your IP address and log data (including the date, time and the pages you visited). We use this technical information exclusively for technical reasons for the operation and protection of our Internet offers. They are not stored in a personalised way, and there is no combination of this data with other data sources.

b) Collection, processing and use of your personal data

We collect and process your personal data during visits to our Internet pages, when you register at www.maier-sports.de as part of competitions or subscribe to our newsletter.

     aa) Newsletter

When you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is used to send our newsletter and for our own advertising purposes, until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Unsubscribing is possible at any time without any costs in addition to your base data rate. Notification in text form to the contact details listed under point 10 below is sufficient. There is also an unsubscribe link in the footer of each newsletter.

     bb) Competitions

During competitions, we use the data you provide to use exclusively for the purpose of prize notification and advertising our offers. You can find more information in the terms of participation for the specific competition.

2. Transmission of your personal data to third parties

There is no transmission of your personal data. Your personal data will only be disclosed or otherwise transmitted to third parties if:

-              we are legally obligated to do so due to official or court orders

-              we are entitled to do so, for example because this is required for the investigation of crimes or for the exercise of our rights

-              you have previously given your permission for us to do so.

3. Data security

The security of your personal data is extremely important to us. As a result, we take appropriate technical and organisational measures for the best possible security of the data entrusted to us, protecting them from loss, destruction, disclosure and access by unauthorised parties. To ensure the long-term protection of your data, these measures are regularly reviewed and, if necessary, adapted to the latest technology. All employees with access authorisation are also bound by confidentiality agreements and have been explicitly obligated to confidentiality of data.

3.2.2. Google reCAPTCHA
In order to ensure sufficient data security when transmitting forms, we use the reCAPTCHA service of the Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, in certain cases. This is particularly to distinguish whether the input is provided by a natural person or abusively by machine and automated processing. The service includes the sending of the IP address and, if necessary, additional data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service to Google. For this purpose, the different data protection provisions of Google Inc. apply. Further information on Google’s privacy policy can be found at http: //www.google.de/intl/de/privacyorhttps://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/

4. Information about Google Analytics

Our Internet pages use Google Analytics, a Web analytics service by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "Cookies", text files stored on the user's computer that permit analysis of the use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about the use of this website by the user is generally transmitted to a Google server in the United States and stored there. IP anonymisation has been activated on our Internet pages, so the IP address of the user is abbreviated within the member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the European Economic Region Accord. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the United States and abbreviated there. Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate the use of our Internet pages by users, prepare reports about website activity and provide other services associated with the use of our Internet offers and Internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be combined with other Google data.

You can prevent the storage of cookies by means of appropriate configuration of your browser software. We hereby notify you that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this Internet site to their full extent. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie related to your use of Internet sites (including your IP address) by Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available through the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

5. Social plugins

So-called "social plugins" are located on our Internet sites. These are functions of the different social networks through which you can share the content of our Internet pages with your friends on the social networks, for example, or recommend that content.

- Facebook

We use plugins from the social network facebook.com on our Internet sites, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). The plugins are marked with a Facebook logo or the text "Facebook Social Plugin".

When you retrieve an Internet page that contains this type of plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from Facebook to your browser and integrated into the page.

By integrating plugins, Facebook is notified that you have retrieved the corresponding page from our Internet presence, regardless of whether you click one of the plugins or not. If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugin, for example by clicking the "Like" buttons, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to Facebook and stored there.

The purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the providers as well as your rights and configuration options in this regard for the protection of your privacy can be found in the https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

If you don't want Facebook to collect information about you through our Internet presence, you must log out of Facebook before your visit to our Internet presence.

Even if you are not logged into Facebook, Internet pages with active Facebook elements still send data to Facebook. Facebook sets a cookie valid for two years on each call to such an Internet page. If you don't want Facebook to use these cookies to collect data about you, you can select the function "Block cookies from third parties" in the settings of your Internet browser. Please note that in this case other functions between pages may no longer be usable.

- Google+

Our Internet pages integrate the "+1" button from the social network Google+ (Google Plus) by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California 94043 USA ("Google").

When one of our Internet pages is retrieved that is equipped with a "+1" button, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Google servers and loads the button from them. This informs the Google servers which of our Internet pages you have just visited.

If you click the "+1" button while logged into Google+, Google will use your Google profile to collect information about the URL you recommend, your IP address and other browser-specific information, so that your "+1" recommendation can be stored and made publicly available. Your "+1" recommendations can be used as notes along with your profile name and your photo on Google services, such as in search results or in your Google profile (as the "+1" tab on your Google profile), or displayed on other places on Web pages and ads on the Internet.

If you are a Google+ member and don't want Google to collect information about you through our Internet presence, you must log out of Google+ before your visit to our Internet presence.

We hereby notify you that at no time do we learn whether or when you click the "+1" button and also have no influence on the scope of the data that Google collects with the plugin. Specific information about the data that Google collects for their own purposes and about the further processing and use of that data can be found in the data protection declarations of Google at:https://developers.google.com/+/web/buttons-policy

- Twitter

Our Internet pages integrate functions of the Twitter social network by Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA ("Twitter"). The plugin is marked with the Twitter logo.

If you call a website from our Internet presence that contains this plugin, your browser makes a direct connection to the Twitter servers and loads the button from there. This informs them which of our Internet pages you have just visited.

If you use the retweet button while logged into Twitter, the webpages you visit will be associated with your Twitter account and disclosed to other users. Data is also sent to Twitter. You can prevent this by logging out of Twitter before using our website.

We hereby notify you that, as the provider of the pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or its use by Twitter. You can find more information about data collection and processing by Twitter and the protection of your privacy in Twitter's data protection declaration at http://twitter.com/privacy. You can change your privacy settings at Twitter in your account settings under http://twitter.com/account/settings.

6. Links to the Internet pages of third parties

We link to the Internet pages of other providers not associated with us (third parties). We hereby notify you that we have no influence over the data that these providers may collect or process if you click these links. Since the data collection and processing by third parties is out of our control, we cannot accept any responsibility for it. You can find more information about the collection and processing of your data by these third parties in the data protection declarations of the specific provider.

7. Consent, right of revocation and right of refusal

To the extent that we use your personal data that requires your consent according to legal regulations, we will always ask for you explicit consent and will also log your consent according to data protection regulations. You can revoke your consent, once given, at any time effective for the future, and/or refuse future use of your data for purposes of advertising and marketing and opinion research. To revoke your consent or to refuse, a simple message to us is sufficient. You can use the contact details provided below (under point 10) without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs from your base data rate.

8. Information about, changes to and deletion of your data

According to applicable data protection regulations, you are entitled to information free of charge at any time about the data we store about your person, its origin and recipients as well as the purpose of the storage. Please contact the relevant office to do this (point 10).

You also have the right to correct, block or delete your data that we have stored. Data for invoicing and accounting purposes, however, remains unaffected by any request for deletion.

9. Changes to this data protection declaration

We may change our guidelines for the protection of your personal data from time to time in order to adapt them to the latest technology or to changed legal conditions. As a result, we recommend that you regularly inform yourself about changes on this page. We will inform you specifically of significant changes that could affect any consent you have given us. By using the Internet pages, you declare your consent to the conditions of this data protection declaration.
